Aptumo awarded development excellence accolade

From the Knowledge Centre

- award given in recognition of a 34% higher rate of best practice compliance in development than other ISVs, meaning less bugs, issues and downtime for customers.

Aptumo, Echo's next-generation utility billing solution, has been awarded ‘Best Product Team’ by code review software for Salesforce experts, Clayton.

The billing and customer support software is native to Salesforce and built on the force.com platform. It successfully passed the Salesforce Security Review in 2020, and has now been awarded Clayton’s inaugural prize for ‘Best Product Team’, as it continues through its product roadmap, to develop new functionality within Aptumo, specifically designed for the needs of its UK and Australian water customers and markets.

Aptumo now has a team of more than 100 people, with 45 in its growing development team, over three sites – UK, India and Australia – following two implementations in the UK and Australia, and further projects in the pipeline.

“We’re thrilled to have been recognised for our development work on our latest software. This type of work is pre-emptive and preventative, stopping problems before they arise, so it can go unnoticed when all systems are running correctly. However, Clayton’s recognition of the comprehensive work the team does is great, and is testament to the experience and quality of our team.”

David Essex, software services director, Echo Managed Services

The global software business has continued to develop its product to meet the high quality and security standards necessary for utility billing software, and in order to comply with Salesforce’s stringent security review guidelines.

Clayton, offering developer-centric security software for the Salesforce platform, awarded Aptumo and its team with the accolade as its 2020 data demonstrated a clear picture that Aptumo was going above and beyond the industry standard to develop and deliver a high-quality product to its customers.

Clayton, which uses AI a source-driven and high precision technology to find vulnerabilities and design flaws in development code found the utility billing software had a rate of compliance with best practices that was 34% higher than the average independent software vendor. The Aptumo software team’s meticulous development means its work is leading to less bugs and issues for its clients.

“While the past 12 months have been an unusual time for everyone, our team has coped very well, across all three locations, continuing to develop and refine high quality software. We have increased the number of team meetings, work focused and otherwise, to aid collaboration and ensure that everyone feels connected and included.”

David Essex, software services director, Echo Managed Services

Aptumo is native to Salesforce and provides a powerful single data model and platform solution for billing and customer relationship management. The software is cloud-based and can therefore be seamlessly upgraded regularly, empowering agility and enabling flexibility, with minimal disruption to the organisation.
