Key Responsibilities:

  • The leadership and evolvement of an effective Billing and Collections function
  • Develop leaders and managers who are committed to growing others within the company to drive performance
  • The development and implementation of effective billing and collection strategies with key stakeholders and processes in the operation to support delivery
  • Manage budget covering manpower and non manpower costs and supply chain
  • Delivery of billing and collections targets in year and for aged debt
  • Manage the performance of third parties as part of the overall strategy
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement within the area
  • Support the delivery of client 5 year plan including the development and delivery of an Income and Debt strategy and readiness of processes and service teams to deliver these strategies
  • Clearly and effectively communicates service culture, values and vision
  • Serve the operation and wider business effectively in line with company values


  • Proven record of gap analysis of policy and process against industry and wider best practice with recommended change plan to address
  • Knowledge/experience of technology/data to drive process and performance
  • Detailed analysis of debt portfolios, identifying trends and levers to improve performance
  • Leading teams through change
  • Managing positive customer experience through a step change in collections approach
  • Strong knowledge of wider support networks for financial vulnerable customers
  • Driving improved performance from partners


  • Highly organised and an excellent communicator
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with an ability to influence outcomes
  • .Strong analysis skills, using data from a variety of sources to support decisions and to align others with the organisation's overall strategy
  • Ability to set clear and challenging goals while committing the team to improve performance; tenacious and accountable in driving results
  • Ability to work closely with the Exec teams and peers in the senior team to develop and execute effective collections and income activity

  • Ideally a Graduate/professional qualification or equivalent
  • Diploma or above in in Management / Leadership would be desirable
