Aptumo is a new multi-utility SaaS product native to Salesforce.com built from the ground up for all utilities companies, small or large, to bill anything, anywhere. Aptumo has been developed by Echo-MS (owned by South Staffordshire PLC), in Walsall, as part of an ambitious next generation growth programme underpinned by an ‘entrepreneurial’ start-up funding model. We have our first customers in the UK and Australia, and we are now moving out of the start-up mode into the next phase of our product life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

Therefore, we are seeking candidates who will relish the technical challenge and opportunity to develop their skills. This is a development and growth opportunity for a Business Analyst to fulfil a role whilst having the potentially progress their career and become an Aptumo Cloud Consultant, a Product Manager/Owner or a Project Manager as we grow. Our objective is to build scalable, repeatable and robust products, collateral and delivery processes. You will play a key role in helping us achieve these objectives. With exposure to the full product and customer lifecycle the Business Analyst will take full ownership and responsibility of the following key responsibilities:

Data gathering, analysis and design of:

  • product documentation for different audiences including customer training, partner support, internal training etc.
  • delivery documentation so that we continually improve our development and delivery lifecycles using hybrid, Agile and Devops frameworks where applicable
  • personas so that we can develop a continual understanding of who we are communicating with so that we do it effectively
  • Product change analysis, for client projects and product management driven initiatives including the production of functional design documents and estimates
  • Analysis of requirements and solution design in line with the applications underlying architecture
  • Conduct requirements gathering workshops and develop requirements backlogs
  • Translate requirements into user stories
  • Hold structured walkthroughs to ensure client understanding of the functional solution and assist their review and sign off.
  • Schedule and deliver structured functional design walkthroughs with the development team assigned to the delivery of the changes. To ensure that possible ambiguity is removed and that development will follow the intended functionality as detailed in the design.
  • Management of change projects, including managing time spent against quote, project updates to clients and manager
  • Ensuring project plans are followed within budget and timescales agreed and that risks and issues relating deliverables are clearly shared with the manager who is responsible for overall change delivery.
  • General consultancy to the client, providing both application and industry knowledge as part of a delivery team.
  • As experience and knowledge of the Aptumo and Salesforce software is gained, taking responsibility and accountability for successful implementation of Aptumo software at client site as part of the delivery team or moving into product management team
  • Testing support during client implementations post-delivery, including regular updates to clients, supporting at client sites when required.
  • Actively working to achieve new chargeable work, such as license sales and new changes.

Qualities

Our environment is fast paced, so you need to be comfortable with managing the demands of a rapidly evolving environment. In order to succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will need excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills, be open-minded and consultative in their approach but more importantly have an appetite to absorb and share knowledge.

  • Minimum 2-4 years previous experience in a Business Analyst role with a desire to develop in a role with exposure to a wide breadth of activities with the product/customer lifecycle.
  • Previous experience working for a SaaS company or implementing SaaS technology is desirable. At a minimum, you must have experience as a business analyst in complex IT delivery programmes implementing ERP, CRM, and Marketing Automation either on premise, hosted or via cloud architecture etc. to an enterprise or SME environment.
  • Previous experience working as a hybrid PM/BA or being a BA part of a complex delivery program is highly desirable
  • Experience providing analysis and input into business cases is highly desirable, but not essential
  • Previous experience in the Utility markets, in particular the water industry, is desirable, but not essential
  • Previous experience and knowledge of billing systems is desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience of facilitating workshops for clients is essential.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Can learn quickly when facing new problems; open to change and enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks
  • Negotiation and influencing – can negotiate and influence clients in tough situations with the ability to settle differences and win concessions without damaging relationships
  • Drive and flexibility to go above and beyond to meet client’s deadlines and required timescales
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines within project plans.
  • Problem solving - ability to use logic and methods solve difficult problems with effective solutions
  • IT Literate and cloud first – proficient utilising O365, Jira, MS Teams, Visio, MS Project to their best potential
  • Customer Focus – is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external clients and customers

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualified or relevant equivalent qualification or experience
  • BCS, BABoK or AgileBA qualifications advantageous
  • Prince2, PMBoK or AgilePM qualifications advantageous
  • ScrumMaster or Product Owner experience is desirable
  • Agile DSDM or Scrum exposure is desirable

Additional Requirements

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel and work at client site(s) including overnight stays as and when required – approx. 30% if seconded to delivery team, otherwise onsite in Walsall.
  • Potential for overseas travel (AUS) to work at client site(s) including extended periods as and when required
  • Clean Driving licence
